Life and Death

I laughed in the face of danger!
Life is full of challenges, and most of the time we just don’t notice it. In everything that we do or even the simplest decisions we make is a test of our strength and bravery just like crossing the highway, climbing up the stairs and all other simple things that we do. But we don’t give any heed on these things because for us they don’t matter and we think they would not do any harm towards us. What we do not know is that, even these simple things can cost our life.
Last Sunday of August 2, 2015, I experienced the most, at least one of the most challenging challenges I ever experienced. I joined the SACEDA Youth Lead Eco Challenge together with the over two hundred Education and some SACEDA students, we are made to go around Dumaguete and pass different obstacle courses that were scattered within Dumaguete and Sibulan areas. One of the obstacle courses is that we have to submerge in the water and walk our way through the other side of the Sibulan port. At first I thought it was just easy I was even telling myself that, “Oh, it seems easy and harmless” so I did it. But when we got to a bit deeper part of the water, I panicked because I can no longer walk properly because my other group mate who was behind me was tugging my shirt down which made it difficult for me to keep my head above the surface of the water.  I was really screaming to that person who ever that person was to stop tugging my shirt, my breathing became really irregular; the water was splashing on my face and I am sinking. My other group mates who were  ahead of me were telling me to be calm I did, but the problem is I was being pulled making it so hard for me to go sideways and go to the more shallow part of the water. But, fortunately God never left me I was able to pass that test and even laughed at it. I said to myself, “Ha! I conquered you fear, hahaha.”
Now the point here is that, we should be careful of whatever we do and always be calm when faced with danger so you can think properly and make yourself out from that. Furthermore, we only see the danger when it is already in front of us slapping us right on the face telling us, “Hey! I’m here aren’t you gonna act? I might just take your life.” But the good thing is that, when we are able to get over these perils we can still smile or even laugh after grave tests of our strength and bravery.
